Meet Mechanicsburg PA Artist Debra Tritt Kreiger

Debra Tritt Kreiger



If you are from the Central PA region, you are likely to have seen Deb Kreiger's paintings, cards and Christmas ornaments. Deb grew up in Central Pennsylvania. She and her husband Scott live in Mechanicsburg, where they raised a son Jason, who was nurtured with artistic talent and graduated from Savannah Collage of Art and Design as an animation major. Deb studied Fine Art at York Academy of Arts in York, PA. She also studied under many local and nationally known artists. Deb is becoming known for her transparent watercolor paintings. She uses bright fresh color and textures to transform her subjects. She keeps a limited palette to keep the colors fresh. Nature is her love, but she paints various subjects with ease. She acquires her research from day to day life as well as her travels throughout the country. Her camera is always at the ready to capture inspiration in photographs. Deb carries her cheerful personality into her paintings. She paints with passion and confidence. Her goal is to give good energy and a smile to all who view her work.

Deb shows at a number of art associations, such as York Art Association, Perry County Council of the Arts, Harrisburg Art Association, and Mechanicsburg Art Center. She is also a member of "The Daily Painters of Pennsylvania". http://www.dailypaintersofpennsylvania.blogspot.com/ . The artist and her son recently designed the official logo for the professional group as shown.



 Deb participates in many community service projects. She has served as co-chairperson on an 85-foot mural, painted by members of Penn's Woods Painters for Cumberland County Children's Services in 2001. She has participated in painting murals that were on display at several of the Harrisburg Symphony Show Houses. She painted an ornament, which was chosen for the White House Blue Room Christmas tree and attended the artist reception at the White House with Mrs. Laura Bush on December 1, 2004. Deb painted an ornament to represent Pennsylvania for the Library of Congress Christmas Tree and attended their celebration in Washington on December 14, 2005. In 2009 she had an ornament juried in and hung on the Smithsonian's Renwick Gallery's Christmas tree in Washington D.C. In 2008, 2009, and 2010 she has had artwork juried into the Mid Atlantic Garden Show in York PA. Deb had artwork accepted in the annual juried York Art Association show in 2008. She also has exhibited in the juried Lititz Outdoor Fine Art Show in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
