Beginner Watercolor Workshop

Learn the basics to start a
life long love of watercolor painting. Deb will introduce you to the world of
watercolor and some of the different techniques used. She will show you what
materials to use. This will be a relaxed and fun class. We will be getting to
know this medium and help will be provided with your painting project.
Materials Suggestions:
- Brushes – I use synthetic
brushes such as Loew Cornell. You will need
#6 and #8 round, #1 liner, ¾” or 1” Flat, a old liner brush and
a old stiff flat brush #2
- Water container and small
water spray bottle
- watercolor paper, 140lb or
300lb(Thicker), and a board to attach it.
- Paper towels
- Old toothbrush
- Palette* you can purchase
an inexpensive plastic one at Michaels or A/C Moore, just
make sure you have room to mix paint. Paint
color recommendations are aureolin
yellow, cobalt blue, sap green, viridian green, rose
madder. Bring what you have.
- Bring a painting you have
been working on and need help finishing or bring along
photos, pictures, drawings, and ideas for your
painting.
Deb is
known for her transparent watercolor paintings. She uses bright fresh color and
textures to transform her subjects. She keeps a limited palette to keep the
colors fresh. Nature is her love, but she paints various subjects with ease.
Deb studied Fine Art at York
Academy of Arts in York, PA. She also studied under many local and national
known artist such as Barbara Buchanan, Sandra Blair, Jean Uhl Spicer, Laura
Mark-Finberg, Larry Lombardo, Jeanne Hartman and Paul Allen Taylor to name a
few. She has also studied decorative art and is certified under” The Society of
Decorative Painters”, an international organization. Her work has been award
winning and has shown in various juried shows.
